Welcome to Dandy Lion Montessori School, the only traditional Montessori school in the Five Cities area of San Luis Obispo County for preschool and kindergarten-aged children. We welcome children who are between the ages 2 1/2 to 6 years old and are excited to learn!
The main goal of Dandy Lion Montessori School is to teach children how to learn and how to love learning.

History
The preschool was first established in 1981 by the Veness family. When the Veness’s retired in 1996, Ann Balasuriya and Dave Hunter purchased the school and transformed it to be a Montessori Teacher-Training Institute. Through their work, the school became a Montessori program and continues to be today. After many years, Ann and Dave retired and the school was purchased by Varala Durai, who owns other Montessori schools in the Bay Area.
